New Additions...

We've recently added a couple of cows to the list of animals here..

We got them last week, and will keep them in the barn for a few more days until they get used to us and then we'll turn them out in the pasture.

And our October Iris is blooming. Looks like it better hurry and do it's thing, it's getting close to frost time!

  1. Oh, I love cows! My Aunt and Uncle raised cattle for years and years. One of the coolest animals on this earth.

  2. What the heck is an October iris?!? And where do I get one?

  3. We had 3 or so different iris that bloomed in the fall last year and I checked into it and saw that there were some varieties that would bloom twice a year. The 'twice bloomers' that i saw for sale were much more expensive, so it was surely a mistake that i ended up with a few! If I can remember.. I'll send you a start when they're finished blooming.

  4. Hey Christine,
i like cows too.. they're so laid back! (if they're gentle) These heifers were just weaned and we were afraid they might try to get away, but one is already eating out of our hand.. we might have some pretty big pets here before long!

  5. Oh, how fun! Are you going to milk them someday?

  6. Hey Terri, I doubt we'll try milking them... we're not opposed to trying to milk the sheep though! Or possibly adding a milk goat to the mix someday!

  7. I am getting a little nervous. You aren't building an ark but not telling anybody, are you?

  8. Too funny... no, no ark, but with all the rain here this year, it probably wouldn't hurt to have something that floats nearby!
