A lot of catching up to do..

I haven't posted in a week, so here's a quick update of the week. The above picture is how the week ended. Weather has been very mild the last few days.
But that is after what seems like 2 weeks of freezing temperatures! I'm not sure if it got above freezing the first 2 weeks of January.

Mid week the snow was beginning to melt.

The sheep have been getting out this past week into the new pasture (the pasture with burrs.. ) This pic was just taken while looking for them. hm, no, they're not here.

He's doesn't know where they're at. He's actually sleeping. I don't know how long he was sleeping like this, but i had time to go and get my camera before he woke up.
"I wasn't sleeping! Sheep?? What do you mean they're missing?"
(little disclaimer for him, he's here to protect them when they're in the field with him, he's not going after them!) And, in his defense, these pics were taken a few days after the sheep first got out, yet they were out again. I'm sure he was more concerned the first day it happened. :)

All is well with the sheep.. they are not staying in their pen, but so far, no one has got into the burrs. I'll update on that here soon i'm sure. But meanwhile, I can't keep them from walking through their temporary fencing. It's not all of them yet, just 4 rogues in the group. (But you know what that means.. the others just haven't caught on yet)

Temperatures got up in the 40's mid week and I took Wyatt for a walk outside. Wyatt hasn't been out much other than to the doctor or grocery store, so it was nice to get him out for just a little bit.

Hope everyone had a great week!

  1. Hi Tonya, I know how time can get away from you. A week is a blink. Wyatt is a beautiful little boy. We call him a poster baby. I'm glad that temps are warming up a bit for you. We are expecting snow for the next 3 days and thats a good thing. I know the guardian had a temporary laps in judgement with the warm weather. I'm sure he will be on it from here. We tried to get the burrdock out of our pastures last fall. Only time and spring will tell. I hate that stuff. Take care and enjoy.

  2. That top shot is fantastic! Sorry about the frozen buckets. I always say I'd rather it was frozen than muddy, but that's probably only because I don't have to carry water. Ugh.

  3. As for me, I love the baby photos. They are such a sign of hope for a better tomorrow. Wyatt could model that teddy bear snow suit. Now we need to see some pictures of the whole baby...10 fingers and 10 toes....when it warms up, of course :-) Enjoy

  4. Hi Tonya!
You first photo is just glorious!
Our weather in the northeast has been up and down too! Over Christmas it was brutally cold and windy... I felt so sorry for the little critters! Then it was just cold, which felt like a relief! And now, although it just snowed 5" in my neck of the woods, it's a pleasant 35°.

What a great dog you have... love the look on his face!

Wyatt is such an adorable baby! Treasure each moment~

    Joyfully~

  5. Hello Tonya! Ahhhh…it is always sweet to see pictures of Wyatt! It looks like he still has peach fuzz for hair. Can you tell what color his eyes are going to be yet? I hope you are doing well and Wyatt is good about letting you get your rest! Gorgeous sunset! Funny your pooch got caught sleeping on the job! : )
