wool recycling plant...

It was pretty out today - not as warm as it was last week, but still nice. I had the opportunity to do a little work outside, and ran across this little tuft of wool in a birds nest.



Not sure what kind of bird would have built this nest? The nest is built on an a weed..so it must be a small and lightweight bird. Glad to see the wool being put to use!

  1. Most ANY bird will take advantage of free nesting materials -HECK, they are darn happy to take everything you have! I am in the same shoes as you - the joyous discovery of how everyone but me can make out on my materials. :)

  2. That would be a red wing black bird. They are traditionally a swamp bird, so they build their nests on plants that keep the nest up off the ground.
