Shearing is still just a bit intimidating to me with the electric shears - but I do like the concept of it. (minutes compared to hours with the hand shears) If you are learning to shear, I would recommend the video by Doug Rathke I think it is - it's very helpful. There's also a link -http://www.fao.org/docrep/v9384e/v9384e08.htm#4.1 that is great for shearing instructions (a reference that I take to the barn with me still when I'm using the electric shears! (Figure 4.2 for the 'crossbred sheep' is the illustrations I use) Good luck with the shearing!
